[SBB] Baylands pix

I paid a photographic visit to the duckpond heronry this week (7/13/06), to
supplement one in May. Action is at its peak, as hordes of juveniles are
out of nests, battling with each other, begging for food, and some of them
flying around. The GREAT EGRET chicks are particularly comical. I was
interested to note the variation between what Sibley calls the pale and
dark forms of juvenile SNOWY EGRETS -- I'd thought of those as maturational
stages until I noticed his writeup.

I also got pix of the resident male and female RING-NECKED PHEASANTS,
looking quite ratty in moult. Also a juvenile Barn Swallow pretty far
along.
