Re: [SBB] American Kestrel nesting in Ed Levin?



Today, 6/18/06, I saw an adult female American Kestrel atop a tree in the middle of the Elm Group Area. I then heard, but did not see, a baby bird calling from the same tree. I assume it was an American Kestrel.
 
I didn't get a picture of the kestrel there, but I got one in the hills above Spring Valley Pond. There were also six White-tailed Kites, three adults and three juveniles. My photos are here:

I did not see an adult the few minutes I was in the vicinty. Where could this bird have come from?
