All,
This morning Frank Vanslager and I once again missed the Northern
Waterthrush (twice) in the Charleston Rd Marsh. We did however have
really good views of a male WILSON'S WARBLER (most likely the same bird reported
earlier by Dean Manley) near the pump house. Later, in Stevens
Creek, we had a male Green-winged Teal that had only the slightest hint of
a white chest bar, it also did not have the bold white horizontal wing
stripe (looked very much like that on Green-winged Teal, black with a white
edge) of the Eurasian Green-winged Teal. Our feeling was that this is most
likely an American x Eurasian Green-winged Teal hybrid. Got a couple good
photos for future reference.
Take care,
Bob Reiling
