[SBB] weekend birds

Yesterday (28 Jan), I spent a couple of hours at salt pond A16 near the EEC
in Alviso looking at gulls. Dean Manley was there when I arrived, and after
he left I walked toward the southwest corner of the pond, finding a very
slender, long-winged first-cycle Glaucous Gull on the fourth island (the
southwestern-most of the four islands). Mike Rogers arrived later, and went
to the southwest corner to find an obviously different second-cycle Glaucous
Gull on the fourth island. Gulls were streaming through all afternoon, and
turnover was fairly high. No sign of the Slaty-backed from two weeks ago,
although seeing all the gulls streaming by north of A16 made it clear that
we were seeing less than 1% of the gulls in the far South Bay in A16.

Today (29 Jan), there were 85 Wood Ducks, 5 Common Mergansers, a Rock Wren,
and several Rufous-crowned Sparrows at the dam at Coyote Lake.
