I stopped briefly today at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery near Rancho San
Antonio Park to check for ducks. As someone reported awhile ago, the only
ducks there are 1 female HOODED MERGANSER and 3 COOTS. Normally, the ponds
have Ring-necked Ducks and Buffleheads as well.
The big pond also held a GREEN HERON. A first for me there. On the lawn
were feeding 20+ YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and Crowned sparrows.
Drove down to the entrance of Rancho San Antonio, passing 3 WESTERN
BLUEBIRDS, 1 WHITE TAILED KITE, 1 KESTREL.
