At lunch today, 6 Jan 06, I went to CCFS and found the GLAUCOUS GULL in the
waterbird pond. Shortly, Bob Reiling, Frank Vanslager, Roland Kenner, and
Pat Kenny showed up and we spent some minutes watching the bird bathe and
preen, before it flew off to the roof of the recycling facility nearby. I
then went to the Alviso Marina to look for a House Wren, but only managed to
find my year LINCOLN'S SPARROW. I travelled to the EEC, where I had 2 BARN
OWLS in the nest box and an adult PEREGRINE FALCON along the entrance road.
a DOWNY WOODPECKER was in the riparian along the slough, as was a singing
BEWICK'S WREN. A HORNED GREBE was on salt pond A16 with hundreds of gulls.
