[SBB] Cooper's Hawk

We had a thoroughly soaked Cooper's walking around on
the patio and peering into bushes...no doubt looking
for breakfast. I had never before seen this condition
of feathers on this immature, very wet bird. There
were steaks of white showing around the neck and back
which normally have not been visiible. It has had our
yard staked out all winter and probably does pretty
well choosing his meals.

It was gratifying to see the Fox Sparrow back today.
It has been about two weeks since I last saw it. Also
had a female Spotted Towhee feeding with the White
Crowns and Gold Crowns. A House Finch made use of a
waterlogged branch of Hollywood Juniper to stand on
and feed at the thistle feeder...much easier than
hanging on to those little holes, no doubt. Gold
Crowns have also been able to hang on to the thistle
feed and upset the little Goldfinch.

The terrible weather has pushed several more Juncos
into the yard.
