[SBB] 1/1/06 Alviso late evening

After chomping at the bit all day, I managed to briefly get out at
4:45PM to Alviso to try and pick up some county year birds.

The best bird was a male RING-NECKED PHEASANT in New Chicago Marsh.

Also of interest were hundreds on gulls in the water at State and
Spreckels St, a lot more than one usually sees there. 
They were there till I left at 5:15PM, don't know if they were going to
spend the night there or were just waiting out the wind. 
Id'ing them was not practical given the rain/wind and lack of light.
