[SBB] White Throated Swifts above the south bay

I work part time for Cheesemans' Ecology Safaris which
puts me in the Saratoga foothills during the week. It
sure is noisy up here today - Varied Thrush, Robins,
Hermit Thrush, Flickers, Townsend's Warblers, Brown
Creepers......

I know WHITE THROATED SWIFTS are resident in our part
of California, but today is the first time this spring
I have seen them above the Saratoga Foothills. I
could hear the swifts outside so I ran for my optics.
It took awhile to find them, but I focused toward to
chatter and BINGO there they were.

Looked as if there were about 10-12 swifts high in the
air. They were busy catching bugs and each other, if
you know what I mean. If you blinked, you would have
missed it.

I'm also taking up the Bousman-dipper challenge and
will go look for a nest this weekend. Here's the plan
- a Starbucks coffee, an Andele Burrito, a walk down
Main Street and a Water Ouzel. Wish me luck.
