Re: [SBB] Black & White Warbler Continues

I probably saw John Hutz as I was leaving today about 1. A local San Jose
birder, Ping Ang, pointed out the warbler to me as I arrived about 12:45pm.
He was great helping everyone find it. The bird acts like a creeper in some
ways, and definitely prefers working trunks and limbs, but it’s also flighty
like a warbler. It flew across the creek several times, but mainly foraged
low on sycamore trunks. As for many people, it got so close that I had to
back up to see it through my binoculars. [warbler was upstream from the
bridge, between Cayman and the bridge around the Sycamore there.]

Also present were a House Wren, several Townsend’s warblers (which I must
say are gorgeous little green and yellow jewels in the sun), Ruby-crowned
Kinglets hunting near the creek’s edge and continually flashing their red
crowns!, numerous Yellow-rumped Warblers and a single Robin.

Afterwards I made a quick trip to Sierra Rd, just to the super cold and
windy summit. Raptors: Red-tails, TVs, Kestrels, 1 female Northern Harrier.
Nothing interesting. Says Phoebes, but zero bluebirds or horned larks or
lark sparrows. Sigh.
