A RUFF was just past the railroad crossing on the
left of the road to the EEC, around 9 this morning. It had very distinct
scaling on the back, mostly grey and white, green legs, stout black bill. It fed
actively a few minutes before a Black-necked Stilt chased it away, revealing the
white U on the upper tail. Also, there was a single AMERICAN PIPIT feeding
near the tracks.
