[SBB] Varied Thrush At Alviso EEC - 12-8-2006

Today at Alviso it was windy and gray, but there were a number of birds about.  The gull flock at State and Spreckles was mostly RING-BILLED GULLS with a few GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS as well.

The bird of the day for me was a VARIED THRUSH in the shrubby area surrounded by parking lot pavement near the EEC building.  I have never seen a Varied Thrush here before.

I also saw an adult SHARP-SHINNED HAWK which looked like it had just eaten take off from the shrubs along the entrance road and fly across the slough.
