Since a couple of people have posted about WESTERN BLUEBIRDS
recently (I'm never sure when a bird like that is worth posting):
there was a pair of them yesterday afternoon at about 2:30pm in
the scroungy field adjacent to the low dirt parking lot (the
southernmost parking lot, just below where the model airplanes
fly, at the base of the PG&E fire road).
There's a post sticking up near the southwest corner of the field,
where phoebes and sparrows often perch; one of the bluebirds
was on the post, and the other was foraging on the ground nearby.
