[SBB] recent things

On Monday, 14 Aug 06, I went to New Chicago Marsh and
walked the RR tracks. Nothing unusual was around but I
did have 16 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 10 of which were
juveniles. An adult PEREGRINE FALCON zoomed low over
the marsh on its way to the power towers along the
entrance road. There were 3 SNOWY PLOVERS in the
northwest corner of the marsh and 2 of them looked to
be fledged juveniles. I had 7 more SNOWY PLOVERS in
the impoundment north of the Alviso Marina, of which 4
were half-grown downy young. Over at the EEC there
were 2 VAUX'S SWIFTS flying overhead with the
swallows.

Today, 15 Aug 06, I visited the Gilroy sewage ponds
and the only birds of interest were 4 WILSON'S SNIPE.
Coincidentally, last Monday when I visited this
location there were also 4 WILSON'S SNIPE present.
