Birders-
Had less than two hours free this morning so I jogged out to the NE corner of the west pond at SWPCP to see if there were any Common or Black Terns. At the muddy island there was no Common. After a while an unusual bird approached, flying low, constantly dipping down to the water. I was briefly fooled into thinking it was a nighthawk, even though I was out the there to find a Black Tern, knowing that they fly like nighthawks! Duh. A Spotted Sandpiper was seen on the way out and back.
