[SBB] Harvey Marsh and New Chicago Marsh

All,

This morning Frank Vanslager and I first went to Harvey Marsh where we found that it was filled with hundreds of Dowitchers and AMERICAN AVOCETS as well as a few "peeps."  Four COMMON MOORHEN (one adult) were also seen in a group at the edge of the marsh and a single VAUX'S SWIFT flew low over Calabazas Creek.  In New Chicago Marsh on the south side of the RR tracks near the RR junction several hundred Phalaropes (90 percent WILSON'S, 10 percent RED-NECKED) were in one fairly small pond.  Four SNOWY PLOVER were in these same ponds (nearer the RR junction) and another was in the pond at State and Spreckles.  Several LESSER YELLOWLEGS were also seen in New Chicago Marsh.

Take care,
Bob Reiling
