[SBB] backyard feeder wildlife WAS re: Purple Finches

Linda:
Where are you in Los Gatos to have all those wonderful backyard birds?

Across the street from the Southwest YMCA (used to be Quito School),
I see maybe one Nuttall's woodpecker a year if I'm lucky. And California
quail -
never in habitat this fragmented.

This is the first year I've seen dark-eyed juncoes at my feeder.
Chestnut-backed chickadees http://tinyurl.com/qfc6t and
house finches http://tinyurl.com/o9emv are regular visitors.

I also have a pair of California towhees claiming my backyard as
part of their territory: http://tinyurl.com/ejs52

And I have the uninvited cleanup crew around the feeder:

If I had a red-shouldered hawk pair in my yard, there probably wouldn't be
a feeder cleanup crew. ;)
