Where are you in Los Gatos to have all those wonderful backyard birds?
Across the street from the Southwest YMCA (used to be Quito School),
I see maybe one Nuttall's woodpecker a year if I'm lucky. And California
quail -
never in habitat this fragmented.
This is the first year I've seen dark-eyed juncoes at my feeder.
Chestnut-backed chickadees http://tinyurl.com/qfc6t and

I also have a pair of California towhees claiming my backyard as

If I had a red-shouldered hawk pair in my yard, there probably wouldn't be
