[SBB] Baylands 3/27

I spent a little time today mid-day at Baylands. The weather was
deteriorating while I was there, and it was a very high tide, so
there wasn't a lot going on.

Ducks included a number of green winged teals (mostly paired),
Ruddys, Northern Shoveler and Mallards.

Shorebirds included Black-necked Stilts, American Avocets, Whimbrels,
and Willets.

Herons included a couple of black-crowned night herons in the trees
around the pond (being grumpy), as well as a few Great and Snowy
egrets near the scout building.

Today was the first day I've seen swallows there -- there were a
couple near the interpretive center, a few more at the scout
building, and I saw another couple flying by at Bixby.

Also american coots, an American Raven that flew through at about 4'
above ground level, song and white-capped sparrows, and the Northern
Harrier (who I caught today dropping down into the weeds, and then
flying away with a stick in its beak....). One other hawk flew
through once and didn't return. Based on size and what I saw of the
undercarriage, I'd say its' most likely a pale red-tail, but I don't
want to positively ID it...
