Hi all,
At approximately 6:30am on 3/30 I saw a GOLDEN EAGLE in Shorline Park in
Mountain View. It was on the ground feeding on an unidentified prey item
about 50 yards west of the mound occupied for some time by the burrowing
owls. (This is across the street from the gravel golf course parking lot.)
After it finished eating, the eagle flew up onto a lamp post where it
perched for a few minutes before flying off again, this time to a distant
powerline tower. While sitting on the powerline tower, the eagle was mobbed
for several minutes by 2 RED-TAILED HAWKS.
Other sightings at Shorline this morning: 2 BURROWING OWLS on their mound.
A male NORTHERN HARRIER flying north with an unidentified bird in its
talons, one COOPERS HAWK and one WHITE-TAILED KITE.
I posted a few pictures of the GOLDEN EAGLE here:

Best regards,
Michael Pollack
