[SBB] Solitary Sandpiper

Today on my lunch hour, I checked Almaden Lake Park and the Los Alamitos Recharge Pond behind the Santa Clara Valley Water District offices located on the east side of Almaden Expwy just north of Coleman Ave. A Solitary Sandpiper was along the Guadalupe River just east of the south end of the recharge pond.

By the way, the habitat around the lake and the pond has been good for migrants. Last week, on my lunch hour midweek there were approximately 30 Yellow Warblers, 8 Western Tanagers, 3 Wilson's Warblers, 2 Townsend's and 1 MacGillivray's Warbler, 3 Warbling Vireos, and several Common Yellowthroats by the lake alone.

Today there were fewer migrants: 12-15 Yellows, 2 Orange-crowneds, 1 Warbling Vireo, 1 Western Tanager, 3 Common Yellowthroats and 2 Lincoln's Sparrows.
