[SBB] Pectoral Sandpipers, New Chicago Marsh

All,

After great views of the male BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER, GOLDEN-CROWNED
KINGLETS (several seen) and of a couple SWAINSON'S THRUSHES in Sunnyvale
Baylands Park this morning (many thanks to Pat Kenny and Roland Kenner), Frank
Vanslager and I went to Alviso. On the east side of the railroad tracks in New
Chicago Marsh, in Pickle Weed, near a couple one foot high posts we had two
PECTORAL SANDPIPERS. In the pond at State St and Spreckles Ave we had at least
ten DUNLIN and a couple dozen BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS. We also noted that the
first island in Salt Pond A16 is now occupied with a good number of
"pink-legged" Gulls including adult WESTERN, GLAUCOUS-WINGED, HERRING and THAYER'S
GULLS. LESSER YELLOWLEGS in New Chicago Marsh included one in the first pond
east of the railroad tracks (I've seen one there every time I've been there
over the last month or so) and one just west of the wooden walkway located near
the Environmental Education Center.

Take care,
Bob Reiling
