All,
I just got back from Sunnyvale Baylands Park, where the adult male
BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER is still being seen by many birders. Also in
these trees along the Meadow Trail are 6+ GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS (first
found by Pat and Roland early this morning - could be twice this many in
there), 1 YELLOW WARBLER (late), and 2 SWAINSON'S THRUSHES (both
calling, lethargic birds that permitted good scope views once located -
at least one was a hatching-year bird - very late!).
I just got a call from Steve Rottenborn who, while looking for the
catbird at CCFS, found a CHIMNEY SWIFT over the creek north of the
banding trailer. It was by itself and only visible for 20 seconds or so
as it moved through.
