[SBB] SCVWD Peregrines

Today, Wed, 10-26, Linda and I visited the SCVWD Peregrines (and the 18 other birds listed below). The two falcons look quite different.

The smaller one is quite brightly colored, with bright yellow exposed parts in front of the eyes and around the base of the bill, through the nostrils. Legs and feet are bright yellow. The breast is creamy buff from throat to base of tail with very fine black horizontal lines on the sides and forming a light cummerbund. The back and wings are grey. This bird is banded on the right leg with a grey band.

The larger bird is grey-blue where the other is yellow. The feet are barely yellow at all. The breast is full of white outlined red-brown feathers, giving a much darker front. The back and wings seem brown as well.

Based upon size and weight, I'm guessing the smaller bird to be an adult male and the larger bird a female and perhaps a juvenile. The larger falcon is the more difficult ID for me.

My wife has good pictures of both birds which I will share when they are ready.
