[SBB] N Parula

This morning (Fri, 10/7) around 9:00am I saw a N. PARULA in the pines along
the Guadalupe River Trail just north of Coleman Rd and Almaden Lake. I first
saw the bird moving quickly among the pines by the VTA trail entrance by the
"Ping Memorial Way" sign. The bird then moved over to a small sycamore in
the VTA parking lot, and then it took off heading east.

I believe this bird to be a first fall female. It was a small warbler
(smaller than nearby Yellow-rumped Warblers) with a short tail. Its head and
upper parts appeared slaty-blue with two prominent wing bars. I also took note
of the half-circle eye-rings. The throat was yellow and the under parts were
white contrasting with the slaty-blue upper parts. The lower mandible also
appeared light colored. The bird did not have a neck band.

The little bird was moving very quickly, and I was not able to refind it
after it flew toward the east. I checked other trees in the parking lot and
also the pine trees by the light rail terminus, but to no avail. It may have
flow over to Almaden Lake.

I hope others will be able to refind this little warbler.
