The flock of WOOD DUCKS was still on Sausal Pond in
the Windy Hill Preserve in Portala Valley from 8:00
to 9:30 a.m. today. We had seven males and four females
in sight at the same time, with a few more hidden in the
vegetation. They continue to stay close to the snags and
vegetation on the west side of the pond. They roost under
willows toward the southwest end of the pond for long
periods.
The flock of about 30 CEDAR WAXWINGS mentioned in an
earlier posting also made an appearance.
