[SBB] Golden Eagles

After birding at Calero with the Wild Bird Center group this morning and finding over 50 species, I stopped at Schillingsburg and McKean to check for Golden Eagles. I spotted four GOEA soaring over the hills beyond their nest platform. Two juveniles had bold white patches near outer wing and white band on tail. The other two were adults and may comprise the family that nested there last winter. All four clearly having a great time. At times a pair would exhibit courtship displays talons extended, or mock battle doing barrel rolls and going into a stoop then soaring again. As the traffic continued to speed by I could only think what everyone else was missing.

Highlights at Calero were Osprey, Green-winged Teal, White Pelicans, Tri-colored Blackbirds, Wild Turkey being chased by a Coyote, Muskrat and a large Black-tailed Buck running through the water frightening shorebirds to flight.
