This afternoon (Mon, 11/21) a juvenile ROSS'S GOOSE was seen with the Canada
Goose flock at the upper end of Calero Reservoir. The young goose was
mostly all white except for some light gray on the cap, nape, mantle and scapulars.
The goose flock was preparing to leave for San Felipe Lake and many were
flying around so I was able to note only one CACKLING GOOSE at this time.
Approximately 20 COMMON MERGANSERS were at the upper end, and I also counted
six EARED GREBES, and several COMMON GOLDENEYES and RUDDY DUCKS (but didn't
get an accurate count).
Four blackbird species were hanging around the boat ramp parking area -
RED-WINGED, TRICOLORED, BREWER'S and BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD.
