[SBB] Uvas Reservoir

On Saturday, I spent some time at Uvas Reservoir and found a nice set of
birds including EARED GREBE (6), WESTERN GREBE, COMMON MERGANSER (16, 3
male breeding plumage), SHARP-SHINNED HAWK (I think), GOLDEN EAGLE (2).
WILD TURKEY (10), SPOTTED SANDPIPER, WILSON'S SNIPE (3), BLACK-NECKED
STILT (4) and ACORN WOODPECKER. On the hill above the boat landing
ramp, a STELLER'S JAY gave a convincing RED-TAILED HAWK cry. Chesbro
Reservoir had another group of 12 COMMON MERGANSERS.

At Chitactac-Adams park I found a large wet COOPER'S HAWK on a branch
over Uvas Creek. It must have just finished bathing. It hopped from
branch to branch until it found a place in the sun, then spread its
wings slightly to dry.
