This morning about 9:30 in Alviso about 100 yds west of the EEC building along the levee I observerd three pipits with olive backs marked similar to a female lesser gold finch, white throats, strongly streaked breasts below the throat, white below the steaking, white supercilliums, white below the ear patch, dark eyes, faint white eyerings and pink legs. The birds were working along the north side of the levee through lumps of dried earth. I did not note any tail bobing. From Sibley and the National Geographic guides I believe that they are either Olive Back Pipits or Asian American Pipits.
John
