Stopped by 303 Laurel in MP tonight and saw 1 Barn Owl in its Palm Tree cave
(right side of 303 driveway, cave faces driveway/west) and 2 Pygmy
Nuthatches on the tree trunk. The adult nuthatch was on the same perch as
Rob Pavey's photo; it pipped, flew off, young appeared, pipped and followed.
7:30pm. A neighbor told me a Barn Owl died a couple of months ago flying
into a nearby house; animal control came to get it. Wonder how many adults
there are now?
I could see the White-tailed Kite nest in the pine behind this house but no
Kites this time.
Great house for birds!
The Nuttal Woodpecker that Tate Snyder found nesting in the plum trees by
202 Laurel is in the vicinity. I could hear it often.

I checked the Breeding Bird Atlas - kites, owls and nuthatches already
recorded for block 7045.
