[SBB] Gilroy WTP, LLagas Creek

This morning Pat Kenny and I went down to the Gilroy water treatment plant on Southside Drive. (They ask that you sign in at the administration building which opens at 7am.) The southern part of the plant forms an east-south "L", and we saw a male GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE on the south side of the pond/marsh in the corner of the "L". Later in the day we saw a female carrying something over this same marsh. Near the Llagas Creek end of the tree line at the south end of the treatment plant ponds, we had brief looks at a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT after it and a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK seemed to get in a shouting match. Walking north on the west levee of Llagas Creek, we saw a female BUFFLEHEAD in the second(?) pond north. A WHITE-FACED IBIS in the third(?) pond. We later saw presumably the same bird flying over the treatment plant, eventually headed north past the plant.

As we drove north from the plant, we stopped at the first pond on the right that has water in it and saw two closely associating SPOTTED SANDPIPERs, one slightly larger than the other.
