All,
Things were pretty slow for Frank Vanslager and I on the "upper saddles" of
Loma Prieta Road this morning. It looks as though the migration there is a
week or two late. No swallows, very few BLUE-GRAY GNATCATHERS (none on the
lower of the two saddles), no Warblers or specialties. Morrill Rd was also
slow but was the best birding of the morning. High point was finding a pair of
CASSIN'S VIREOS finishing up on a nest, one bird was seen to carry a white
"feather" to the nest and then position it. The bottom of Wright Station Rd
was also fairly slow with a couple active WILSON'S WARBLERS being our best
birds.
Take care,
Bob Reiling
