Good evening SBBers....
I was checking on the herons most of the day....found that they are building
a new nest...that will be Nest 10....then tonight found another new nest,
Nest 11 and mating occurred in that nest tonight. You can now hear the chicks
at both ends of the rookery.
A Canada Goose was turning its eggs and then settled down on its nest.
She/He is on the little island in the creek.
Red-shouldered Hawk pair made an appearance today (and ruffled the herons)
and a Turkey Vulture tonight flew extremely low over the colony which also had
the herons in a tizzy....
Wishing you all good birding and my best regards,
Linda Sullivan
PS Thanks for all those who responded about the Bewick's Wren.....
