[SBB] Kinglet singing today, etc.

I heard, then saw, a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET singing along California Ave. in Palo Alto this afternoon. It was in the curbside oak between Country Sun Natural Foods and Bank of the West. It was just a snippet of the rapid-fire rondo that I've heard in Seward, Alaska. I guess it's just warming up.

Two RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS have been calling incessantly around the house, spooking the Band-tailed Pigeons, outside, and the Galah, inside. I wonder if this is a breeding pair looking to nest? At least one is in subadult plumage.

Up to about a week ago, I've been hearing NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWLS at all times of the night: post-sunset twilight, 11:00p, and pre-dawn twilight. I haven't gone out to listen for them lately.
