After the trip ended I continued down the dry creek bed (avoiding the runners) and came up by the bridge on Mazzone Dr. There is a nice woody area between the creek and Cross Springs (?) that had some real goodies in it. I saw Bullock's Orioles, Western Bluebirds, an Ash-throated Flycatcher, 5 Western Kingbirds (3 immature begging for food and 2 adults) and 2 Black-headed Grosbeaks - 1 female and 1 immature with no streaking on it's breast. All this in a little strip of trees and brush. I came out at Almaden Expressway and walked down McAbee to Guadalupe Oak Grove park. Unfortunately I didn't see anything there that I hadn't seen along Los Alamitos Creek. I never did the Nutmeg Mannikins.
