I had to make a quick stop just now at Nordstrom's and found 4
White-throated Swifts flying low over the "purses" entrance (seems like
North to me, faces the creek). When I came out, I still heard their calls.
I finally saw 1 emerging from the roof/wall way at the end of this side of
the store (facing the store, right side, - toward the entrance road that
passes Andronico's). I would assume that if they are entering buildings at
4:30pm, they are nesting.
Thought this might be useful for the Palo Alto summer bird count.
Last evening at Casey Forebay in Mt View, there were 10 male Cinnamon Teal,
1 Common Moorhen (acting like a dabbling duck, head down in the very shallow
water, walking on the mud) and 1 White-faced Ibis.
