The Wild Bird Center birded at Charleston Slough this morning and saw both
White-faced Ibis, a male Blue winged Teal and 9 Lesser Yellowlegs all in
the Coast Casey Forebay. Adult Am.Avocets were threatening walkers getting
too close to their tiny chicks. Perched juvenile Tree Swallows being fed by
adults were enjoyed by all.

I finally found the female Wood Duck and four half grown ducklings on the
Alamitos Creek this afternoon. Apparently she originally had 12 ducklings.
Also seen were Red shouldered Hawk pair on power tower, pair of W.
Kingbirds nesting on power tower. One adult Kingbird flew to nest platform
halfway up tower and I saw a bright red color when chicks beak opened. Two
pair of Ash throated Flycatchers, Black headed Grosbeak and three male
Bullocks Orioles all seen in trees or on the chaparral hillside. A singing
male Yellow Warbler was found in the willows.
