All,
Following up on Dotty's report of possibly a new ibis at the Forebay, I
swung by there just before 2pm and sure enough, there is now an adult
WHITE-FACED IBIS foraging there. This bird has the white facial ring, a
fully chestnut head and neck, and completely chestnut scapulars/lesser
coverts. Sibley illustrates both age classes well for those needing help
separating these two birds (note "1st summer" is "similar" to the
"Adult nonbreeding" in Sibley).
