Folks:
This morning, 7/29/2005, I made a CCW loop around the Palo Alto FCB. Going
out by Charleston Slough I found one LESSER YELLOWLEGS in the
slough. Further out, in the outer slough, a Harbor Seal was nice. My
tally of LESSER SCAUP in Adobe Creek was 14, almost all were eclipse
males. No sign of young birds yet. The CALIFORNIA GULL colony in the
outer basin is almost through. I counted 43 juveniles on the island (more
were nearby) and all but one appeared fledged. A badly worn imm.
GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL was with the Californias. This bird appeared similar
to a worn bird seen at Shoreline and the Duck Pond this summer.
