[SBB] Phalarope and swallows (Calero-Morgan Hill CBC)

Folks:

Today, 12/30/05, I covered the Uvas/McKean roads with a detour to Chesbro
Reservoir for the Calero-Morgan Hill CBC. At the upper end of Chesbro
Reservoir, there were about eight WOOD DUCKS and about 17 COMMON
MERGANSERS. A few shorebirds were there including a distant phalarope
which was undoubtedly a RED PHALAROPE. Other counters may have found a few
lingering phalarope from the recent coastal wreck. Also over the reservoir
were two swallows that I eventually was able to identify as a TREE SWALLOW
and a NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW. At least one SPOTTED SANDPIPER was
here as well as three BLACK-NECKED STILT--not so common at inland
reservoirs as they are along the Bay.
