[SBB] A morning in Alviso

This morning about 8 am Pat Kenny and I, with the help of a pair of birders from the east bay, found the young STILT SANDPIPER at State and Spreckels. We then headed to EEC. There was a BURROWING OWL in it's usual spot NE of the entrance road and tracks, and today there were three youngsters with their heads barely above the pickleweed. A PEREGRINE FALCON was on one of the power towers at the corner. At EEC, the BARN OWL was in it's box, and in those same trees along the slough was a WILSON'S WARBLER, a WARBLING VIREO, and a PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER. There was a WILLOW FLYCATCHER in the brush between the levee and EEC.

Frank Vanslager and Bob Reiling caught up with us on the levee on the west side of A16, but even with their help the best we managed was a CASPIAN TERN and 2-3 RED-NECKED PHALAROPEs. On the way back we refound the WILLOW FLYCATCHER and discovered that there were two. Finally, an OSPREY flew over just east of the slough.
