Hi all,
On Friday we had a TOWNSEND'S WARBLER foraging in the oak tree in our
backyard. We live adjacent to Blackberry Farm in Cupertino. This bird had
gray auriculars, making it either an adult female or a 1st winter female
according to my Sibley guidebook. We are fortunate to have a decent number
of Townsend's warblers in our yard during the autumn/winter migration, but
this is the first time I can remember seeing one here in the summer.
Good birding,
Michael Pollack
