[SBB] Semipalmated Sandpiper, Orange Bishop

All,

This morning Frank Vanslager and I were finally able to find a well marked
juvenile SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER in New Chicago Marsh, just off of the boardwalk
located near the Environmental Education Center. We then went to the
Coyote Creek Riparian Station Waterbird Pond where, thanks to Peggy Don, Frank was
able to relocate the male ORANGE BISHOP on the eastern edge of Coyote Creek.
The male then flew to the marsh located between the creek and the Waterbird
Pond (and later to a couple different trees nearby) where it was well seen
by both of us. A bird that preceded the male Orange Bishop in flight to the
marsh, flying at a lower level, was not well seen but was most likely the
female (a plain, short tailed bird with the same GIS).

For what it's worth the water levels of New Chicago Marsh and the CCRS
Waterbird Pond seem quite low (the first pond along the railroad tracks in New
Chicago Marsh is now dry)!

Take care,
Bob Reiling
