All,
This morning Frank Vanslager and I had two LESSER YELLOWLEGS in the Lockheed
Martin Marsh. A couple LEYE have been seen in the Marsh for the last couple
weeks (maybe the same birds?). There were no Greater Yellowlegs in the
Marsh. At noon in New Chicago Marsh an OSPREY caught a fish and then perched on
a post in the marsh to eat it thereby upsetting many of the locals (Terns,
etc.). I haven't seen an Osprey in the marsh before. Several BONAPARTE'S
GULLS were in Salt Pond A16 and at least two BOGU were in the East Pond of the
Sunnyvale Water Treatment Facility. I should also note that a pair of BLACK
SKIMMERS are at least roosting on the Western most island in Salt Pond A16
(we've spotted them during the last couple trips there). Still no solid
Semipalmated Sandpiper sightings :-(
Take care,
Bob Reiling
