I visited Ed Levin Park at lunch time today, 26 Apr 05, and hiked up to the
sycamore draw above Sandy Wool Lake. At the peak of the trail heading up to
the draw I had a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW pop out onto the barbwire fence, about
20 feet away for approximately 2 minutes, providing wonderful views through
my binoculars. Other birds at the sycamore draw included singing LAZULI
BUNTINGS, RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROWS, BULLOCK'S ORIOLES, SONG SPARROWS, and a
HOUSE WREN. Lots of CLIFF SWALLOWS with a few TREES and a WHITE-THROATED
SWIFT overhead.
