Yesterday morning I got over to Stevens Creek Park to check for migrants,
and maybe photograph some of them. I spent my limited time at Villa Maria -
limited because I set my binoculars down while fooling with the camera and
tripod, and then walked off leaving them behind, followed by an hour of
fruitless searching. It turned out that Terry (I wrote down but lost her
last name) had picked them up, and later returned them to me at some cost
to her own time -- thanks Terry!
The birds were plentiful, as I saw or heard (mostly heard) most of the
usual suspects: PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER, ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER, WESTERN
WOOD-PEWEE, OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, WARBLING VIREO, WESTERN TANAGER,
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, and BULLOCK'S ORIOLE.
On pictures, not so lucky. Of the above birds, only got this distant blurry
one of a WETA: http://www.pbase.com/tgrey/image/42447059
Other pix from the morning: Flicker, Roughwinged Swallow, Bluebird, all at

Seeing the weather this morning, it's a good thing I went yesterday.
