A golden eagle raises broods annually on a power tower near McKean Road at 
Schillingsburg Avenue, not far from Calero Reservoir (take Almaden 
Expressway to its end to get there):

The other nests I've seen were at Livermore's Sycamore Grove. I've also 
seen red-tail hawk nests at Bosque del Apache south of Albuquerque and 
nesting bald eagles near Tofino on the west side of Vancouver Island - not 
very close. But I'm sure there must be more in Santa Clara Valley.
