Folks:
It was still this morning, 9/20/07, so I stopped by the Sunnyvale
Baylands just after sunrise to look for migrants. The best bird was
a very pale HY BLACKPOLL WARBLER that I found repeatedly at the
eastern end of the cottonwoods during my stay. Other migrants
included an immature WILLOW FLYCATCHER, 2 "WESTERN" FLYCATCHERS, 2-3
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, 20-35 YELLOW WARBLERS, and a TOWNSEND'S
WARBLER. Two male Common Yellowthroats in the cattails are likely
wintering. Among other wintering birds, I saw my first adult
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW of the season.
