Today, during a company picnic outing to Ed Levin Park, I observed an
apparent WHITE-FACED IBIS in Sandy Wool Lake between 12:30 and 3:30pm.
The bird was feeding in shallow water near the peninsula that juts
into the north side of the lake.
Also, a little out-of-area request. Mary and I are scouting Alameda
County for the California Fall Challenge. If anyone happens to go up
to Coyote Hills or Hayward Regional Shoreline, we would love to hear
about the ducks you see in that area. Our Big Day is scheduled for
Sept 23. We appreciate any info you can offer -- we have had a near
strike-out on ducks at the locations we've tried so far in Hayward,
Berkeley, Oakland.... They have to be up there somewhere, right? You
can reply privately to me - [[email protected]]
Good birding!
