In a short span of the Guadalupe River Trail between Blossom Hill Rd.
and a few yards north of the Granite Boulders, I saw the following birds
between 8 and 9 am this morning.
CHIPPING SPARROW, one seen and possibly more heard. A very worn bird was
seen on both sides of the trail just past the boulders. It would fly
every time someone walked past, which was often. As hard as I tried I
can't be certain I saw a dark lore.
A first year WILLOW FLYCATCHER was in the same Willow tree just north of
the boulders where I found one two days ago. An ASH THROATED FLYCATCHER
and WARBLING VIREO flew into the same willow but were chased off by a
Song Sparrow. Several Yellow Warblers were seen and heard.
A pair of Common Yellowthroats, another f. with juv. were seen in the
same stretch of trail.
Closer to Blossom Hill Rd. a flock of seven Hooded Orioles were eating
Blackberries. One Juvenile was begging from adult female.
